The purpose of having a teacher in a structured class setting is to facilitate speedy learning; to gain maximum result for the time, energy, and the money spent. Therefore it is my strong belief that placing a person who is not ready into a higher level does disservice to both that student and to the rest of the class.
At the end of each series, an individual evaluation will be given to see if a student has the necessary understanding and the skill to advance to the next level. Those who successfully pass the evaluation may enroll in the next level class, and may also attend the lower level classes free of charge that the student may continue to practice and master what he/she has already learned. They are also encouraged to mentor the lower level students. Some students will inevitably progress through Level I and Level II faster than others due to natural aptitude for dancing or dance experience. However, most students will plateau at the intermediate level. Only those with passion, discipline, determination, dedication, and lots of hard work will make it to advanced level class. |
